Concussion

A concussion, ranging from minor to major, temporarily impairs neural functions of the brain. Although it is not considered a life-threatening condition, short-term or long-term problems may result. Concussions are caused from any significant blunt force trauma to the head. Symptoms may include loss of consciousness, confusion, headache, nausea or vomiting, blurred vision, loss of short-term memory or perseverating. Depending on the extent of the concussion, treatment options include ice, bed rest, fluids, or pain reliever. In the event of a concussion please seek immediate medical attention.
